Summary
Discovered abandoned as a baby, Qyunn'aris was raised in an Empire of elves for no other reason than an Empress' mercy. Constantly forced to prove himself as more than a drow’s unwanted spawn, Qyunn showed himself loyal to the Empire of Stars, joining its order of knights and eventually being assigned to guard the Empire's charming but spoiled Prince Astarion, who, despite descending from a long line of sorcerers, is magically inept. Despite this, the two adore each other, their bond teetering past friendship and into forbidden love. A love that is threatened when the Empress suddenly announces the Prince is to pick a spouse from a competition of eligible suitors.
In danger of being torn apart, the forbidden lovers' lives are shaken up when a tentacle ship kidnaps them both and inserts a deadly tadpole in their heads. Now, they must team up with a ragtag group of adventurers to get the Prince home. If this inconvenience wasn’t enough, they discover that darker forces are at work around them, conspiring against the well-being of the Empire, and the Prince's upcoming nuptials might not be the only thing trying to keep them apart.

Now he's stuck inside the game, with no idea how he got there or what the fuck is going on. And very quickly, he'll realise that the real world of Faerun is nothing like the game. Shit hurts, there's no maps, fast travel, or save scumming. And people are far more complicated than simple video game characters.
If he can keep himself alive and make it through this, perhaps there's something waiting for him in Faerun, a life he can build for himself. But the urge is just as real as everything else, and it's out for blood.
All he wants is to find his freedom before the game kills him or the urge overtakes him.

With winter fast approaching it’s not surprising for animals to take shelter there. Last year he’d played host to a family of opossums nesting in the back corners.
He isn’t sure what’s taken up residence this year, though. After noticing his new neighbor he left out food and water, both of which were untouched the next day. But whatever is in there is coming and going. Through the latched door, even. Which signals a level of intelligence beyond the usual woodland creature. A stray kobold? Or a goblin? He guesses and leaves food suitable for either. It remains untouched.
That’s when his curiosity gets the better of him.
