Mistakes and choices were made in the past and future, and now there are Four Warriors of Light who could all easily take center stage and be the hero. However, one does appear to shine brighter than the others, perhaps that's whom the story is meant for?
Even then, having FOUR Warriors of Light can't be a bad thing, right? The established timeline won't change that much...

Rhys sank to one knee, holding the Exarch’s hand. The heavy fabric of his black robe fanned across the pale cobblestones of the Exedra, a stark contrast, as he pressed a delicate kiss to the back of the man’s knuckles.
“My prince,” he whispered, voice low and intimate. “It is both a pleasure and an honor to meet you again.”
“Rhysard!” the Exarch gasped, mortified, attempting to withdraw his hand. “What are you doing?”
“I’m simply letting everyone know that I'm courting you, my lord,” Rhys said, smirking, lifting his gaze to meet the Exarch’s.
The man's expression was scandalized, yet the flush on his cheeks betrayed that he was secretly pleased.
