Somehow, it made this worse. Rumi and Zoey hadn’t come up themselves, they told Celine instead. Mira knew the feeling before a parent reprimanded her, and while Celine wasn’t her mom, the feeling was still very much the same. Mira felt the anger bubble up at the memories.“What?” she snarled, voice much steadier than she had expected.
A pause. “I’m coming in,” Celine said.
Everything she said came out like an order, this was no difference. To Mira’s surprise, the older hunter didn’t burst in immediately. She seemingly gave Mira a few seconds to prepare herself before the door swung open.

I've seen so many stories completely villainizing Celine, which I'm totally interested in exploring don't get me wrong, but I also disagree that that's how she is in canon. She's a lot more complex than that, I think. That being said, this ALSO isn't based on canon. This is Celine doing a better job at being the parent Rumi needed.
Also note that the first chapter is a prologue and not really in the style that the rest of the fic will be written in, it's just like that for atmosphere!

Even with all of these external factors, can Rumi still find her destiny with Mira and Zoey and accept herself? Or will she fall alone?
