Helaena had always been strange, often only Aemma could soothe her melancholic moods as a child and now she stood before him, soft blue eyes that reminded him of a summer sea. Her mother's eyes, as a pang of regret filled him even as his daughter stood clad in a dress of black and red, yet all he could see was Aemma in her features. From her smile, to her rare laughter it was obvious just which parent she had taken after more, and at times it hurt him to see it.
