“Suguru?” He asked, a slight tremor in his voice.
“Suguru.” He tried again, firmer this time, getting closer, as if his six eyes could’ve ever been wrong in telling him that the teen in front of him was dead. Likely dead for a couple days by the smell.
“Suguru! This isn’t fucking funny!” He yelled, desperate. Tears were now blurring his vision. Even with the blurred vision, his six eyes didn’t let him stop watching the body. He shook Suguru, desperately trying to wake him up.
He couldn’t hear his heartbeat. The steady drum that he always listened to when in the presence of someone. He tried to listen for the rush of cells through veins— the sound of digestion— anything. There was nothing.
It didn’t matter how much he shook him, how much he cried, the body he was holding no longer confined a soul.
OR: AU where instead of defecting from Jujutsu Society, Suguru kills himself.

Shōko eyed him. Gojō had been strangely calm over the last few days. But she couldn't tell if that was his new normal or not. He had spent little time in the school after the failed Star Plasma Vessel mission. He was always needed somewhere. He was avoiding them. But then, three days ago, he came back, eyes bandaged and cracking a smile. She might have been relieved, if he hadn't seemed so lost.
They were slipping through her fingers, he and Getō. And Shōko had no idea how to fix it.

Shoko hums as she shifts so Satoru's legs rest along her lap; she reaches over and pulls the thread from Satoru's finger before she starts picking at the lint lining the seam of Satoru's leggings. "They let anyone become a foster parent these days."
Satoru scoffs and takes the bottle from Shoko's hands; he tips the bottle and swallows what little remains, all while biting back a grimace at the tart taste. "I'm glad I never got stuck with shit foster parents. Things could've been so much worse than where I ended up."
"You should apply," she says, so nonchalant that Satoru has no doubt that she is entirely serious. He laughs anyway, finding the thought alone terribly funny with his alcohol-addled brain.
"What?"
"You should apply to be a foster parent," she repeats, but Satoru is still unsure if he is hearing her correctly. Shoko grins at his confused face, "since they will take anyone."

His hand instinctively reach beside him searching for comfort and finding it as it landed on Suguru's hip.Geto stirred a moment after Gojo's hand tapped him, groaning as he turned over so he could look at Gojo, in a low gentle voice he mumbled out, "Everything ok, Satoru?"
Gojo finally turned to the companion on his bed finally drinking in his warmth a gentle smile spread on his face, his heart rate steadying as he looked at the man that was so dead asleep he didn't even raise his head from his pillow as he addressed him. Gojo slowly stroked his thumb across Geto's hip trying to let the calm settle into him, so his words would seem genuine "Yeah, just a bad dream don't worry."
Geto groaned lightly in acknowledgement before raising his arm to invite Gojo back into bed. Feeling the warmth radiating from Geto as he lay there half asleep Gojo allowed his eyes to grow tired once more, and scooting down slightly he curled his head into Geto's chest.
