Shinobu Kocho wanted it this way. She wanted to die angry and alone. No one to see her fury and cold eyes. The consuming hatred and blood lust for the demon in front of her. She expected it and welcomed it. What she didn't expect was everything else.
The guilt. Of giving them false hope. That she would live and be happy. That she was happy. That she was content just doing her best. The guilt of letting Mitsuri wait. The guilt of telling Kanao her plans and the burden of that. She should have known better.
The regret. She didn’t want to leave. She wanted to die, not leave. She regrets not being able to say yes to gorgeous green eyes. Regrets not being able to say no and free them both of the weight in their stomach. She should have told her exactly that.
She was in love.
