They knew they'd been caught stealing, the details of that were fuzzy, but they knew Tommy made it out. Tommy made it out, so he'd come rescue them, if he could.
They also knew what was going to happen to them. Ranboo was an Enderman hybrid, and hybrids, especially hostile mob hybrids, were sent to fighting rings, to help deal with overcrowded prisons. And this prison was definitely overcrowded, there were two others in this cell, but the guards took them out when they threw Ranboo in.
Shocking Ranboo from their dissociative state, the guards opened the cell door with a loud clang. Ranboo shifted painfully to look through the door.
There were more guards, at least ten, and panic seized their chest. What was happening? Then they saw the reason there were ten guards outside their cell. They were getting a cellmate.
A piglin brute. Not just any brute, but Technoblade. The Technoblade. The only hybrid to ever escape a fighting ring, basically the leader of the revolution Tommy wanted to join so much. The man who was best friends with The Angel of Death.

Or, Ranboo and Technoblade are sent to a fighting ring by a corrupt government. Surely they won't get attached to each other.

All the while, Techno's mysterious attacker plots from the shadows, a plan slowly coming to fruition that could endanger the little happiness left on this Prime-forsaken server.

The hoglin then let out a soft grunt and opened its mouth as it leaned towards him. Phil flinched away, not wanting to get his face chewed off, but he was too slow to prevent it from grabbing onto the shoulder of his coat with its mouth. Phil froze as he watched it, and the crow on his other shoulder let out a surprised squawk. The pig ignored them both and started to drag Phil away by the sleeve.
“What the actual fuck is going on?”

That shift started off normal enough, nothing different from a usual night; drunk people stumbling in looking for more alcohol and then harassing the (probably) sixteen-year-old behind the bar. Techno wasn’t new to the whole ‘things will get worse before they get better’ concept. But moving to the middle of nowhere was something he didn’t expect out of that statement. Not when he thought he had already gotten to his lowest moment.

The card probably had some sort of tracker in it anyway.“Tommy Ingold. 19 years old. Dropped out of college last month due to your legal guardian’s suicide. All of his debt got transferred to you, on top of the debt you had already acquired from school. You are $624,105 in debt, with no job and a recent eviction for not being able to complete rent payments. You have no other familial connections.”
Tommy didn’t know whether he should punch this guy or run away.
“How the fuck do you know that.”
The man simply stood up and held the card out to Tommy again.
