Summary
Note: Graphic description of torture and non-con in chapter 1. If this is triggering for you or your mental health please do not read or skip to the second chapter after it is released. Please take care of yourselves and read with caution.
The sound that is torn from Rolan's aching chest resembles a drowning cat more than the pained screech of a man and it rang true through the darkness so loudly that his own eardrums felt as if they may burst. Fire lit the inside of his lungs and sent darkened embers along the back of his throat, burning a trail of scorched muscle and skin in their wake that made it impossible to swallow as saliva and blood dripped from his gasping mouth and rolled disgustingly down his chin and across his neck. He almost can't believe that the sound even came from his own mouth and if he were less delirious he might have even laughed at the absurdity and irony of it all. The once great wizard, Rolan, apprentice to the magnificent Lorroakan, lying debased and prone as he is assaulted in one of the most hideous ways imaginable.

Summary
Gale gave him a stare, head slightly tilted in a way that made Astarion’s heart flutter - how dare he look so sweet. “Well, if it's not that, then what’s upsetting you to the point of tears?”
Or, a quiet moment between two men just so helplessly in love with each other.

Summary
What was a bit of blasphemy if prayers fell on deaf ears.
“It’s not fair, isn’t it?” Astarion asked, eyeing the flower with a sombre kind of sadness. Gale didn’t say anything except a whispered “No, it isn’t.”
—
“Nothing’s ever ‘simple’ with you. You’d get bored."
“Not simple then. Easy.”
“I would have to disagree because- This is all but easy for me.” Astarion admitted quietly.Something fragile and easy to break. Something too good to be true. Or at least that's what Astarion thought. Fortunately, Gale disagrees. Astarion really needs to stop it with the electric eel comparisons and Gale needs to pluck his eyebrows because they're distracting. Maybe Astarion will just look into his eyes instead.
Or: Astarion and Gale dealing with their past trauma and Astarion not wanting to be touch at times. Talk about consent, non-sexual intimacy, hurt/comfort, Astarion's genuine flirting and Gale being a hopeless romantic - the fic

Summary
After the fall of the Netherbrain, Tav's home in Baldur's Gate was destroyed and Gale offers his tower as a temporary place for her to rest and heal. A very slow-burn romance starts to bloom, while Tav (named Iluviel) struggles to be ready after the things Astarion did to her.
~
Lots of D&D lore and (mostly canonical) Waterdeep worldbuilding went into this fic that follows both Gale and Iluviel through their daily lives inside and outside of the wizard's tower.
~
Readers said about this fic: "This fic has had me in a chokehold from Day 1. The most deliciously slowest of slow burns, yet with enough intensity and cliffhangers to keep me racing back to it as soon as a new chapter alert comes out. The world-building that has happened in this fic surpasses just about all of the other fics I've read to date, with the imagery and scenery so beautifully written I could imagine myself sitting right in the kitchen along with Gale, Tara, and Iluviel, dodging pots and pans 😁"

Summary
Obbryn Lothlyl, a cynical rogue assassin for most of her life, never thought the distinction between legends and heroes was something she would ever be concerned about, nor that it was going to hurt so much. Gale had tried to explain it before; what’s of utmost importance to note is that while both commit heroic deeds of bravery, heroes are alive and legends are dead. She was always more practical than scholar, but she never thought Gale would offer a real
lifedeath example, nevertheless that she could feel so desolate for being the one to survive. Mystra might have ordered his sacrificial death and Gale might have complied, but why does Obbryn have to live with any of that?Written for Whumptober 2025 days 10, 11, 12, 17, 21, 24, 25 (prompt details in notes because summaries have a character limit 🙃 )

Summary
It's 1980-something and the eclectic band Astarion and The Misfits has enjoyed moderate success so far. But as the band heads out on their first national tour, lead singer/songwriter Astarion is falling apart.
His traumatic past is catching up to him and it's getting harder to hide his worsening cocaine habit from his band. The only time he feels something approaching okay is when he's writing music, or around his keyboardist and best friend, Gale.
Will Astarion be able to pull himself together enough to deal with his painful past and out-of-control present before it's too late to save his future? Or is he doomed to repeat the cycle and end up as just another tragic rock and roll cautionary tale?
~~ Step right up! Come one, come all! We've got: excessive use of the f-word! Shameless (fair) use of songs recorded after the 1980s, from many genres, that have been shoehorned in to fit the story (or vice versa)! Belly-flopping face down into all kinds of trauma like it's Scrooge McDuck's money bin! More flashbacks than an acid trip! Angst and longing! Romance and smut! A side of Halstarion! A side of Karheart! A main course of Bloodweave! Frequent chapter updates, including Spotify playlist! ~~

Summary
Astarion had died. A dreadfully boring affair for the vampire, in theory. Yet, this death wasn't the expected blink of darkness turning to a swift revival. Nor did he finally descend to the Hells that most certainly awaited his tormented soul.
This death had the vampire plagued in a strange state of purgatory. He was a ghost, watching memory after memory, visions of the past and of strange events that never happened.
But while most of them made little sense to the vampire, there was one constant throughout it all... Gale.
Gale, that verbose fool of a man. Astarion's chosen target for protection should the others or anyone else turn against him.
In every vision, Gale was there, falling for his trap and becoming enamoured by the vampire. The wizard was clearly smitten—ever helpful, defending Astarion, and keeping his secrets close. And what confused Astarion most of all, so was seeing himself return the sentiment. Watching himself fall in love with the blattering human just as the human clearly fell for him too.
But these were just the deranged dreams of a dying mind. They couldn't possibly be real.
...Right?
