In the year 102, King Jaehaerys thought a lot. Age had taken its toll on him, but he was certainly not becoming an idiot. He accepted that sometimes he couldn't really recognize faces, and that he had often mistaken this Hightower girl for his daughter Saera. The old king never let his grief get to him, but now, with his 68 years of life experience, he realized that he had made a mistake.

King’s Landing burned with summer’s heat the day Daemon Targaryen wed. Gael, the Winter Child, was wearing scarlet and gold which shimmered as she walked to him. Their marriage had been planned since their infancy, but while they got along well as friends, their marriage was not what Daemon desired.
For the Targaryens, family is their greatest joy and greatest pain.
AU changing up the marriages of Jaehaerys and Alysanne's children and grandchildren, as well as their fates. Will span roughly 20 years in story but the years go by pretty fast. Story starts in 98AC.
Strong focus on Daemon's life and choices. Eventually Daemon/Rhaenyra.

Summary
The Valyrian Gods are upset that the Long Night destroyed the world. The House of Dragons was on its last legs. Their champions too weakened to effectively fight and win. They decide they must go back to the beginning and stop the Dance of the Dragons.
They tried sending warnings to Viserys with dreams about a son so he knows to prevent it but he misunderstands. They tried sending dreams to Rhaenyra and this time they show everything that is to come. It doesn’t bode well for the young princess, too overwhelmed and confused, she ends up labeled mad. Even when Daemon is sent dreams alongside Rhaenyra, the King keeps siding with their enemies and weakening their House.
They decide Viserys is the problem, he cannot become King. They send dreams to a young Aemma. They know now to send only bits of information at a time. Aemma, the blue dragon who never got the chance to feel her own fire. From her line comes the ‘Heir That Was Promised’.
