Summary
Wren "Rook" Laidir isn't hero material.
Sihu "Rook" Mercar never meant to stray so far from the city she's sworn to.
And Lucanis Dellamorte never meant to tether his heart to anything at all, much less a pair of strangers racing against the apocalypse, but the heart wants what it wants.
A retelling of the Veilguard where instead of one, two Rooks take to the chessboard.

A beat, a breath, and Ashur finished, “tell me your sins, that I may pray on your behalf.”
“Oh, I’m certainly trembling,” a familiar voice responded from the other side of the curtain. A sweet, smooth baritone just above a whisper. “Do you pray for me, truly? Do you think it’ll do me any good, or am I a lost cause?”

Summary
“I know it will hurt, but… I promise I’ll be fine.”
What he’s not saying, what Tarquin can so plainly hear in the slight waver of his voice, is that he's afraid of doing something wrong. Not of the pain or of making a mistake in choosing to get a tattoo, but of having a bad experience due to his own fault. He needs a tattoo beyond just having beautiful ink for whatever his reasons are, and he’s afraid of messing it up. Ashur needs to be good, and he needs Tarquin to deem him so.
Tarquin has never had a client quite like Ashur.

Summary
Though they were rare these days, alphas and omegas were a known quantity in Thedas. It was an affliction exclusive to the elves, one in which an elf might be born with additional sex characteristics.
[...]
Rook didn’t think about them much. He was a beta, after all, like most elves, and he had no inclination to learn about that part of his ancestry beyond what the Circle had taught him.
Maybe if he had, he would have been prepared for the events that transpired a few months into his conflict with the remaining Evanuris.
Well after the age most elves would present, Rook discovers he's an omega.

Summary
What if "Dragon Age: The Veilguard" was not stuck in such a development hell? What if Project Joplin had not wholly been abandoned? What if we truly had received a game more in line with the first three?
A hypothetical look into an alternate universe where the fourth Dragon Age had a tad fewer problems in its 10-year development cycle.
Disclaimer: I don't hate the game, I actually think it's quite great given the development hell Bioware went through in those 10 years. This is more of a hypothetical universe where there was less of that behind-the-scenes drama. Just a fun writing exercise.

Summary
Dorian Pavus would like to catch a break. The Lucerni have crumbled, his best friend and long term ally has lost her seat in the Magisterium and the Antaam threaten like never before. A few weeks in Vyrantium should allow him to lie low and come up with a new plan of attack for wrangling the Imperium into reform. As long as no one kills him on the way there.
Except, Mae has some new friends with some rather ridiculous pseudonyms, and they’ve got some allies that Dorian never expected - or wanted - to meet again, let alone travel with.
The Blue Wraith has a reputation in Tevinter, and a target in Vyrantium. It makes sense for them to travel together, to work together. If they don’t kill each other, first.

Rook fidgeted under her friend's gaze. Unsure what the response here was (this was her first kidnapping, unintentional as it may be), she gave a small shrug and settled for a small, "Oops?"
