What's the perfect time to have a sexuality crisis? Definitely not when you're trying to fix your marriage by playing a couple with your wife on stage. And definitely not when your new costar is sex on legs playing a character that's temptation personified. And especially not when that costar hates your guts. Too bad for Eddie that at Theater 118, there's nothing he can do except let madness take its toll.

Today might just be a good day. A great day, even. This bagel and coffee are sparking a fuck ton of joy right now. Buck sparks…huh, I don’t know…it’s very close to joy, but it's not…Weird. My stomach kinda hurts now. Oh, well. My coffee and bagel are good enough for me right now. Hopefully that’ll help. Now, this shift better be alright. No tomfoolery. No hijinx. No nothing. Just chill. Relaxed. Calls that aren’t crazy. It's indeed a Monday. First day of the week. What's the worst that could happen?

Summary
Buck's laughter gets cut off when Eddie speaks up again, “Aren't you cold?”
Buck pauses, looking next to him to find that Eddie hasn't looked up from his shirt. The look in his eyes was dark and full of swirling desire. If his mouth were still open he would probably be drooling.
Oh?
—
Buck has a realization that Eddie is attracted to him. Like a lot. But he's not sure if Eddie is aware of this. He does his best to help him out, even if Eddie pulls back at every chance he gets.
However, Buck is nothing if not persistent.

Summary
If you asked Eddie Diaz what grief felt like, he’d tell you it was a smoke alarm that never turned off.
If you asked him what denial felt like, he’d say it was standing in a strip club surrounded by objectively gorgeous women while his eyes—traitors—tracked one man through the crowd like a compass needle finding north.

By the look in your eye
I can tell that you're no longer sleeping

It's clear that we're both never leaving
But if we're still breathing

Eddie moves back from Texas and in with Buck. Maddie convinces him to pick up some shifts in dispatch to get some space and perspective on the changes in his life. A gay awakening ensues, just in time for a disaster that could risk everything. Angst. Angst angst angst. I promise you a happy ending and some fun chat scenes along the way, but it comes at a price and the price is trauma.
This fic starts up shortly after where Season 8 ended, timeline wise. Assume canon compliance through that point, though some things will be glossed over (looking at you, Thomas Kinard). Title is from the song by Noah Cyrus and The Fleet Foxes.

Summary
So, okay, it makes perfect sense and it's new and terrifying, but it still doesn't feel like the point. Because this is not about him liking men, this is about the man he's in love with. And somehow, against all expectations, liking men doesn't feel as big a deal as loving Buck.
Or; Where Chris agrees right away to live with Eddie as they mend their relationship, but Eddie can't seem to stop feeling unsettled. Until he figures out why.

Summary
Eddie teaches at an MMA gym to make ends meet in LA while he waits to start the Fire Academy. Meanwhile, Buck needs an outlet that isn’t random hookups so he decides to give MMA lessons a try. Buck hates Eddie immediately, but he isn’t sure if it’s the way he’s so horribly perfect or if it’s the way he nitpicks and constantly critiques everything Buck does in the gym. Maybe Buck didn’t intend to goad the guy into a rough, dirty hook up in the empty gym, but he isn’t exactly complaining either. When Eddie freaks out and says he won’t teach Buck or see him again because they made a mistake and Eddie is straight…well. Buck just takes that as a challenge.

“Whose turn is it to deal with that?” Leo asked, a chip paused halfway to his mouth as the three of them stared down the hall where Chris had just stomped inside, growling like a feral dog before slamming his bedroom door.
“Nose goes,” Buck and Eddie said in perfect sync, fingers shooting to their faces.
Leo rolled his eyes.
‘Of course’

Summary
Grief has a way of twisting everything. One moment someone is alive and laughing. The next, they are bleeding behind a glass wall and gone, and you can’t reach them. One moment someone is just your friend. The next, they feel like a part of your soul, and maybe they always have been. But then they could suddenly never be your friend again if you dare to cross a line.
Buck knew he was sliding into a spiral. He had been here before, enough times to recognize the signs. Recognizing it didn’t make it easier. It didn’t give him the strength to fight it. He didn’t have that strength. He had lost Bobby, and he carried that guilt like a weight that would never lift. He could never outrun it. He could never outrun the memory of the glass door, the look in Bobby’s eyes, the way he had walked away. Nothing, not a thousand saved lives, could balance that moment
