Summary
When a party between the Investigation Team and Shadow Operatives ends with the discovery of a new threat brewing in a small town up north, everyone is quick to jump in and help. There, the combined group gets the shock of a lifetime when they discover a Persona-wielding masked man in a black coat that turns out to be a dear friend of the ones from Inaba. Even more shocking is the reason for his involvement in this latest crisis.
Ren has many questions after finding out his oldest friends are all Persona-users. Between that, and the fact that a government supported team of Shadow exterminators exists as well, things are shaping up to be more complicated than ever. He'll have to adapt quickly, however, because he'll need their help with his own investigation: finding out who kidnapped the rest of the Phantom Thieves.

Summary
It was different to lose his father (who he had mixed feelings about) to something normal that he had no control over than to lose Aragaki in a situation he’d gotten involved in more or less voluntarily. Sure, he didn’t choose to awaken to the Dark Hour, but he still joined SEES by choice… and he really did like Aragaki. Would’ve wanted to be his friend, if only he’d had a little bit more time.
It was the moment that Junpei grew up a little, he supposes. That and the subsequent days of mourning, where he had to come to terms with what happened. What it was for him can’t even begin to touch what it must’ve been for Sanada, though, whose face remains unreadable. He’s crouching now, arms folded across his knees, face buried to the nose in the fabric of his jacket. He says nothing. Junpei inches closer, swallowing the urge to ask why Sanada had invited him to come, if he wasn’t going to speak. Feels a little… mean, you know.
“...Sorry, Iori,” is what Sanada does eventually say, at great length. “I don’t… really know what I’m doing.”

And Junpei, now, can’t stop his heart from palpitating every time he looks over at his roommate of three years. It’s absurd. He told himself—well. Moving in with Akihiko, it hadn’t even been a flicker in the corner of his mind. Sure, they’d… cuddled. At times. Who hasn’t, with their friends? Plus, they’re sort of in the same boat. Arisoto was everyone’s leader, but Junpei lost Chidori and Akihiko lost Aragaki—and Kirijou probably could’ve understood it too, but she’s always had Yukari there for her more than anyone else, and…
All Junpei’s saying is he wasn’t going to cuddle with Kirijou. He understands where Akihiko’s coming from! It had seemed an ideal arrangement at the time Junpei made it. And it’s not like he’s unhappy about it now; far from it. It’s just that the horrible rhythm his heart keeps making in his chest whenever Akihiko’s in the same room as him these days is incredibly distracting.
A pain in the ass, mainly because they live together, which means that Akihiko is usually in the same room as him.

“You have to say something if I’m hurting you.”
“You should talk,” retorts Aki, who isn’t helping in the slightest, sitting across the room on Mitsuru’s bed with a textbook open in his lap. He looks, put simply, dumb, a pencil tucked behind his ear and another in his hand. His socks are mismatched. He’s begun looking proper pretty instead of just kid-cute the way he’s always seemed to Shinjiro and thinking about it makes him nervous, and that’s when his palms start sweating, and well, Shinjiro’s trying to comb Mitsuru’s hair right now so he has to think about something else. “You never say when you’re in pain.”
Shinjiro grunts and looks back at his task. “That’s because it’s nobody’s business. But this is my business right now because I am the one brushing the princess’ hair.”
“I really do appreciate the help,” Mitsuru murmurs, with a contrite look over her shoulder—and Shinjiro immediately feels guilty for the lip.

Flirting with Minako was like snapping a rubber band on your wrist -- most of the time it was harmless fun, a way to pass the time. Rarely, one of the snaps would smart, surprisingly harsh. So when she grabbed the sleeve of my coat, I didn’t assume this would be one of those times.
But it was. She pulled him down and growled, “Listen, I know you don’t want to be part of S.E.E.S., but part of not being involved is not interfering. And you know what would be major interference? Having the government take over the school because you couldn't eat a package of cookies and talk about finals with a guy who drinks apple juice in earnest!"
With Apathy Syndrome on the rise at Gekkoukan High, guidance counselor Takuto Maruki arrives to investigate. That'd normally not be Shinjiro's problem, but Maruki's interest in the residents of the Iwatodai dormitory is putting them all on edge. And Shinji can't find it in himself to say no.
