And what happens when that thread choses to weave its own fate instead?
(A Kai antihero/villain fic in which he stuck to his original convictions and didn’t ever truly become a ninja. Morro comes along and finds an explosive amount of potential in what he believes is a kindred and powerful spirit. Chaos ensues. A lot of mess and explored dynamics, along with a healthy dose of nuancing current character point I either felt were under-discussed or thought would be fun additions. Hope you enjoy!)

Summary
After Zane’s “death,” Kai spirals into underground fighting, drowning his guilt in fame and alcohol. When a certain revelation causes Kai to realize Zane isn't dead after all, he'd do anything to get him back.
Skylor is suffering. From being the daughter of a cult leader and never knowing life outside mansion walls, she despises all of it. Hoping to send her father on a wild goosechase, she asks him for something she's sure he can't provide: a brother.
Chen is a sucker for good drama and his daughter, but is occupied with his plans to take over the world. So when he finds a way to kill three birds with one stone, he takes it.

Wu have never seen serpentine before. At least in real. Pictures and art depicting them were always in their home, even in his and Garmadon's room, yes. But the art were so unrealistically depicted that his mind couldn't really comprehend some creature like that.
Playing near the line crossed between the serpentine and humans, Wu was always curious to finally see at least one serpentine in person.
So he begged Garmadon for him to come to cross the line and get into the serpentine land. Garmadon was skeptic at first. He was also very afraid of disobeying their father's order. Wu had his fair share of guilt at that, but he sweet-talked him to join him.
So that's the short tell of how they're now standing shamefully in front of the serpentine king, heads bowed down in both horror and guilt while he was relentlessly shaming them for not obeying the law and their father.
