He already has to wait so he might as well do something productive for his body while he’s at it. AKA get food. God, he needs to eat. He’s going insane. So, he just walks into the closest open food shop that looks halfway decent - there aren’t many open and there are even less that look worth going into. However, he’s desperate at this point and he might perish on the spot if he doesn’t consume whatever food the nearest place has.
He walks into the place, the ding from the door ringing through the shop, and he immediately feels poorer, he feels like the simple action of breathing in the air from this pitiful shop has cost him money even though he hasn’t even bought a damn thing. It’s like simply being inside the four walls of this place is making him worth less money.
Ugh, gross.

Detective Hwang In-ho was stuck, this case isn't moving forward and bodies are piling up. One body–every three months.
And the department's name for the killer–Deadly Sinner–makes him wanna slam his head against the wall or laugh till he cries.
And then there's Seong Gi-hun, the mechanic he met once because his tire got punctured, who won't leave him alone. Somehow he finds himself meeting Gi-hun everywhere. At the precinct, at a coffee shop, at lunch, at dinner. And the worst part, he won't stop talking.
He doesn't think this will lead anywhere–Gi-hun also has weird moments where he looks terrified when he laughs a little too loud. And In-ho has enough on his hands with the case of the weird killer who shoves different animals down his victims' throat to care about him.
It doesn't help. He's still somehow tangled up with Gi-hun and the case doesn't seem to solve itself.
What he'd have never guessed is that the killer might just be in front of him. With all of his weird stories and unfunny jokes and clumsy habits. How does this fluff ball kill people?

The life of a Recruiter weighs only slightly heavier than that of the games’ on-site staff; not outright dispensable, but ultimately replaceable when the time calls for it. Until then, one is to be compliant with the six rules. A misstep could cost you your contract, and for a Recruiter, it is equivalent to his life.
So when a loose thread and a detective too nosy for his own good put it at risk, the most natural thing to do is whatever it takes to put an end to the burden. Even if it means becoming entangled in a long-winded lie with the detective; he will cut it off eventually. He has to. Because Recruiters don't wonder, they don't linger, and most of all-- they don't exist to be remembered.
Even if all they do is wait for an echo back, things like a long-held breath finally released, like someone returning after a long wait.

Hwang Inho picked up on Junho’s third attempt. He sounded strangely out of breath even though it was the middle of the night.
“Junho, this had better be an emergency,” His older brother said, impatience clear in his voice. And then, Inho heard the sirens in the background and changed his tone. “Oh no, is it an actual emergency? What’s going on?”
He heard faint rustling on the other end and someone’s else’s muffled voice. Junho frowned. A horrible horrible thought occurred to him. He cupped a hand over the phone, turning so that his mother could not hear, and hissed down the line, “are you…did I interrupt you two having sex?”
“No,” Hwang Inho snapped back a little too quickly. “Why do I hear sirens? Are you ok?”
