Even with his abilities, he should’ve realised he wouldn’t be strong enough, but this was who he was. He tended to run into things headfirst, even if he didn’t think anyone would believe the very possible reality of what this man was actually up to."
On trying to get back what he thought was his, he comes into contact with the man from back at the market and who now owns Marlinspike Hall, but even seeing through his simple and so-called decent rich businessman façade to a power-hungry and devious wealthy aristocrat, he realises far too late that he's of far greater power than himself and that he's the perfect victim for him to use besides.
