Steve and Robin are on a road trip the summer before Robin starts college, and Steve has to figure out what he wants to do to his life. Expect this isn't your average road trip. They're traveling with their boyfriend and girlfriend, respectively. Which is excellent! And they're hunting cryptids across the Midwest. That's gotta be less stressful than battling the Upside Down.
Except for the Men in Black, the cryptids which may or may not be out to get them, and whatever the hell is following them.

The end of the world shouldn’t be like this. It should be ending with a loud bang or a big, sad wave of applause. Not like this. Scattered military bases across a small, rather apocalyptic town, red flashed ground, rain smelling of acid and puke. The scene could remind one of a very bad horror movie, filmed in the sixties on a really, really low budget.
But it’s the reality, the reality William Byers has started to be fine with.
Well at least trying to be fine with. The raw apocalypse has started to seem way more soothing than attending high school under the circumstances. If will Byers was normal, maybe things would be different, easier and he could pack up and leave the government to the work. But unfortunately this wasn’t the case.(This fanfic is a small „prediction“ for season 5 of stranger things. It will actually focus on Byler but the plot will still be there. I’ll post at least 4 times a week, maybe less, maybe more, depends on my exams.)
Every chapter will have the title of a song, I’ll recommend listening to it while reading the chapter! :)

When Steve left Montana he promised himself he wouldn't return unless someone died-- happy to leave that world behind him. He thought he'd have several decades before he was dragged back to the ranch he used to call home. But Sara died. His big sister-- bringing him back to the family.
His family was far from traditional. It wasn't any wonder that it took one of them dying in a freak accident to get them all in the same place again. If that wasn't distressing enough, it became clear Steve's father would need more help with Sara being gone, forcing him to stick around longer.
On top of it all, his childhood sweetheart's presence on the ranch was impossible to ignore. Steve knew if he wasn't careful, it'd be all too easy to fall into his arms and never leave. The only issue was, if Jonathan learned his secret, there was no way he'd want a thing to do with Steve.

Today did not go how Mike expected. He anticipated just another Friday boys' night without Will - boring and long, where he spent most of the time in his own head, wishing Will was there with him. Instead, he'd come out to two of his best friends. And revealed his massive, huge, scarily intense crush on Will, which, apparently, wasn't news to them at all. What a night.
Despite himself, he wished Will could have been there. He wished he could talk to Will about these things. He wanted to tell his best friend about his crush. But he couldn't. Because his best friend and his crush just so happened to be the same person.
