Crowley is almost done writing the long awaited sequel to his first novel Murder on the M25 and Aziraphale is focusing on his podcast Mystery Haven so, when the evening takes an unexpected dramatic turn and they find themselves having to track down a murderer, they decide to team up and investigate on what is about to become the scariest (but also horniest) night of their lives.

The beast has evidently made its way from Gévaudan, goats are being beheaded and villagers are vanishing in broad daylight. Father Aziraphale is doing his best to soothe the town's hysteria in the face of this mysterious, seemingly supernatural enemy.. One he isn't sure actually even exists.
But then an equally mysterious, red-headed trader arrives, peddling Snake Oil and grand tales of heroics, armed with a crossbow and the promise of a pound of Beastly flesh.
It seems their prayers may well have been answered....

Crowley had only meant to throw a few books of phony magic on to the black market. Never once did he imagine that any of the spells would actually work, or that Crowley himself would become trapped by one. His captor is the self-appointed leader of a long dead cult and he's growing more and more power hungry by the day. He's tasked Crowley with acquiring a priceless book containing rare and ancient magic, the only set of accurate spells in the world that don't come with a terrible cost, from the notoriously illusive angel Aziraphale. In doing so, Crowley might just have a chance at regaining his freedom.
The only problem?
It seems even the rare book dealing angel has yet to lay his hands on a copy. Aziraphale and Crowley will have to form an alliance to track it down before the deranged magician and his followers do. But they'll find a lot more than they bargained for on their quest. True love, for a start. -

It was a sort of bird, he managed to quickly determine. That much was evident from the feathers and wings, although the latter didn’t seem to have been much help considering the creature had fallen.

Something he drank when he didn’t care about quality, only getting drunk as fast as possible.
Crowley looked bad. Aziraphale didn’t think he’d ever seen him with a hair out of place, and certainly never in dirty clothes and flip flops.
