A year after season two, Aziraphale is trapped in Heaven.
He sees Crowley living on Earth, all alone and in trouble. With help, he manages to act accordingly.
Crowley’s heartbreak leads to him to being a damsel in distress.

Aziraphale recalled what he’d seen out his office window. With it’s close and clear view of London, Earth.
He hadn’t meant to zoom in where he did. The scene had appeared against his will.
A certain demon. All alone and buying several cases of the worst scotch he’d ever tasted. Oodles of it.
Something he drank when he didn’t care about quality, only getting drunk as fast as possible.
Crowley looked bad. Aziraphale didn’t think he’d ever seen him with a hair out of place, and certainly never in dirty clothes and flip flops.
But there he was. The only familiar part of his attire had been his sunglasses.

As an up-and-coming post doc, marine biologist Anthony J. Crowley landed a coveted grant from The Eastgate Conservancy to study the lives of endangered sea turtles. Armageddon could not be stopped. They had tried everything and in the end they came up short. The time for running off together had long passed. So, Crowley and Aziraphale returned to the bookshop to spend one last evening together, wait for the bombs to fall and discorporate them.
“Anything else?” The angel asks after taking a long pause, eyes never straying from Crowley’s face.
He has nothing to lose. The sun will not rise tomorrow, they may never see each other again. So, Crowley, being that he is the snake of Eden, temps.

Summary
Aziraphale is in the business of commercial garden maintenance - he manages his family business, sprucing up commercial spaces, making sure every project is neatly done within budget, with the client's specifications. Life is predictable, but his heart yearns for the unhindered beauty of natural gardens and forests.
The closest he has been to this is when he admires the works of a freelance gardener and blogger AJ, but their work is too free-spirited for it to align in any way with Aziraphale's world.
When a unique client has a requirement which forces Aziraphale's company to work with Anthony Crowley, Aziraphale must navigate clashing idealogies and his own inconvenient feelings for the immensely talented creator he has been fangirling over for the longest time. -

Crowley heard a light thud on the ground behind him. It was an almost imperceptible sound, and to humans it surely wouldn’t have been audible over the sounds of birdsong. Luckily, he wasn’t a human. It was a sort of bird, he managed to quickly determine. That much was evident from the feathers and wings, although the latter didn’t seem to have been much help considering the creature had fallen.
